Mat-thaeus Information -- Meaning, Origin, and/or Other Information

Mat-thaeus: Matthew the Evangelist, often called Saint Matthew, was one of Jesus' Twelve Apostles. Some speculate that Matthew the Apostle had been called Levi according to Mark 2:14 and Luke 5:27. He was supposedly the author of the first Gospel in the New Testament. He is recognized as a saint in both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. The Eastern Orthodox celebrate his feast day on November 16, whereas September 21 is observed in Latin churches.
